is trading complicated?

Well , most of my friends said that trading is a complicated business. Most of my trading friends have tons of indicators and EA. They usually have tons of screen to track news on multi-channel television programs, check future volumes, check multiple time frame, check cross pairs, check bond yields, check blah blah blah in order to make few trading decisions. Is it really complicated like that to be profitable?? A lot of people say that every person have personal trading style. Do you really need a complicated lifestyle to make a living? Do you need to be a mechanical engineer to drive your car? Do you need to be a surgeon doctor to realize that you have broken your legs?
in my opinion trading can be as complicated or as simple as we choose to make it. Yet most are better off by keeping it simple.
