Recommended Forex Books

admin on November 9th, 2009

Learning to trade Forex is somewhat easier if you have experience in equities, futures or options markets, but when you are a complete newbie, you’ll need to start from the basics. When learning from start, there are little as useful methods as reading the books. Forex and general trading books are so popular and numerous nowadays that it takes a lot of effort to find those pieces that will really help you. But with the presented list of recommended Forex books you don’t need to search anything. Reading these books helped hundreds of traders, including me, and you won’t waste your time by reading them:

Getting Started in Currency Trading by Michael Archer and Jim Bickford. From the simplest basics to the most advanced topics, this book on Forex trading explains everything in a very easy-to-understand language, which is rather helpful for the newbies. If you can afford only one book, this one is the best choice as it will get you through almost everything you need to know to start trading profitably.

Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom by Van K. Tharp. This book was written by a prominent psychologist and a traders’ coach. It covers the most problematic aspects of trading — emotions, psychology, position sizing and system development. It’s easy to read and contains a lot of interesting information, besides being useful.

Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns by Thomas Bulkowski. This book comes in a form of a real encyclopedia, except that instead of words it defines and describes the chart patterns. Chart patterns are important for technical analysis, which can be a base of many Forex trading strategies and systems. This encyclopedia contains descriptions, statistics, recommendations and examples of all chart patterns.

Beat the Forex Dealer by Agustin Silvani. It’s not actually for the complete Forex newbies, but I recommend reading this book immediately after you gain the basic knowledge on trading and have some practical experience. It will help you develop real Forex trading strategy and live in the world of currency trading without any troubles.

The Disciplined Trader by Mark Douglas. Discipline is one of the most profitable virtues in the Forex trading. Unfortunately, discipline is a quality that we often lack. This book talks about discipline in trading, how it can benefit your trading results and how it can be achieved without enforcing yourself psychologically.

It’s never too late to learn, so after reading all these recommended Forex books, it’s better to continue your learning process and read more books, constantly improving your knowledge on the matter. This list is just a good reference for the newbie traders that are about to start reading their first Forex book. If you have additional questions regarding the Forex books, don’t be afraid to ask using the commentary form below.
